    How are the Schedule Sales Query System reports displayed?
  • The information provided by this system is displayed by either total fiscal year or fiscal year standard business quarters.
 
 Why is the sales information on my requested report different than Schedule sales information I have seen in newspapers, magazines, or may have heard at a conference?
  • The Federal Supply Service sales information provided on this web site represents the sales for specific quarters reported for a specific fiscal year. The Federal Supply Service maintains "official" sales data by the fiscal year in which it is reported/received, not by the fiscal year of the reported quarter. There are often situations when 72A sales are not reported within the prescribed 30 day period after the end of a standard business quarter. While the system places these delinquent sales into the proper quarter and fiscal year, the information becomes part of current fiscal year accounting.
 
 Why do so many contracts display 2 sales entries for the same quarter?
  • It wasn't until January 1, 1998 that Federal Supply Schedules sales quarters were changed to Standard Business Quarters (OCT-DEC, JAN-MAR, APR-JUN, JUL-SEP). Prior to then, the contract's begin date established the contract's report quarters (i.e., FEB-APR, MAY-JUL, etc.). Since many Schedule contracts were awarded before then, a transition quarter was established. If the contract's original quarter was September through November 1997, the sales were reported for that period and the month of December was reported by itself. The sales during the First Quarter of FY 1998 may fall into 2 report periods, both periods (reports) are displayed as First Quarter FY 1998.
 
 Why is this information made available to the general public?
  • This information has always been available to visitors or by Freedom of Information Act request. In the National Performance Review of 1994, it was indicated that all "Freedom of Information" data would be available to the public electronically. In addition, we now have the technology available to provide you with the information you need in a more convenient and efficient manner without a charge. Also, you may select several methods of downloading the requested data.
 
 The reports are not quite what I need, Can I request a customized report that I can use?
  • Yes. You may use the Federal Schedule Sales Query Feedback form and submit your request. However, your "Special Request" will be handled as Freedom of Information Requests are today and may include a fee of $250.00.
 
 Why are some contractor's missing quarterly sales data?
  • If you notice that the resulting information pulled for a specific Contractor or Contract Number is missing, it is because the Contractor failed to report any information for that particular quarter.

    For example:
    If you are interesting in viewing the 1st Quarter FY 2000 sales for XYZG Company and the resulting report indicates 'No Data' - it is because the Contractor has yet ot report sales for that quarter.
 
 What are the NAICS?
  • The North American Industry Classification System or NAICS (pronounced "nakes") is used by business and government to classify business establishments according to type of economic activity (process of production) in Canada, Mexico and the United States. GSA uses the NAICS to determine a contractor's Business Size.
